1. Parkland, like many employers across the country, is experiencing a worker shortage in several areas, but one that we need to bring your attention to now is in Transportation. There may be days in the future where we can't source enough drivers to cover all of the early morning runs to PHS, OMS and/or SMS. For this reason, we want to make parents aware that a phone call could come in from the District around 6 AM on any given day that will announce a 60-90-minute delay in transportation to SMS, OMS or PHS on a particular bus. The bus runs will be rotated so that this should only affect a particular student one time. Students will be able to make up any missed work in a similar manner as if they had a doctor's appointment. Please make sure that your contact information is up to date with your school's main office. Thank you for your patience.
2. Snow Day Guidance - the first snowflakes are in the air and you may be wondering about future snow days! Click here for the guidance related to how we will handle the next snow day and how Flexible Instructional Days may come into play this year.
