Open Records: Act 3 of 2008 Right to Know Information
The Right to Know Law is Pennsylvania’s Open Records Law. On February 14, 2008, Governor Rendell signed the new Right to Know Law, which takes effect January 1, 2009.

All Right to Know requests must be submitted in writing to the Parkland School District Office of Open Records. Fees will be assessed for each request and prepayment will be necessary for completion. Every attempt will be made to send the information to the requesting party through the requested media. However, the District will not convert records to the requested media if the document has not been created in the requested media.
Please keep in mind that fees will still apply for requests that have been made for electronic versions of records.

Item Cost
Each one (1) page copy $0.25 per page for the first 1,000 copies and $0.20 per page beyond 1,000.
Mailing of Documents
As determined by the weight and cost of postage at time of mailing through the US Postal Service
The Parkland School District will make every attempt to send the information to the requesting party through the requested media. However, the District will not convert records to the requested media if the document has not been created in the requested media.
