Welcome to Kindergarten!! Hello, my name is Mrs. Patselas and I will be your Kindergarten teacher this year! Some of you may recognize my name from possibly teaching a sibling or friend when I taught third grade or last year in Kindergarten. It is a pleasure to have you in my class this year. You should be receiving my letter in the mail soon. (It should arrive towards the end of August or the beginning of September.) :o)
This will be my 21st year teaching in Parkland. I have been working in the district for 22.5 years. I have taught first, second, third, and Kindergarten! My entire family went to Penn State University and are BIG fans. I earned my Master’s Degree from Wilkes University and my ESL, or English as a Second Language Certificate from Lehigh University. I have two daughters-Annie and Zoe. My eldest is entering 10th grade, while my youngest will be entering 7th grade. Our fifth member to the family is- Teddy. Teddy is a yellow Labrador Retriever. He is HUGE- just like a teddy bear. I enjoy spending time with my family, taking walks with Teddy, Mr. Patselas and my girls, shopping, Penn State football, and coffee!!
I look forward to working with you throughout the year. This year we will be learning many new and exciting things. As you know we are a full day Kindergarten program. We enjoy having the opportunity to have the entire day to work with the children. Your child will have the exciting experiences of eating lunch in the cafeteria, going to recess, having purposeful play time, and mindfulness time. Our room is a “Positive Thinking” area. We work together , support one another, and help each other learn and grow. Our Kindergarten website allows you to visit and explore what you will be learning this year. Feel free to look at our Encore schedule, read about our Kindergarten curriculum, review favorite websites, my Portaportal site and much more! This website serves as an immediate line of communication between home and school.
If you have any questions or concerns please do not hestitate to contact me at anytime. You may either email me at email@example.com or via a handwritten note. Feel free to also call extension 28103 if you have any concerns you would like to discuss. I am more than happy to help in any way I can. Have fun exploring and learning in Kindergarten!
