CONCERT REMINDERS

Hello, Chorus Families…

This letter details concert directions, in school rehearsals, and procedures.

I think I have covered everything here, but please feel free to e-mail me with any questions.

There are nearly 1,500 seats in Parkland High School Auditorium, so please bring any family and friends!!

6th Grade Students should be dropped off near the auditorium. The “A Wing” runs parallel to the left side of the auditorium.    Security guards are posted at all entrances for the protection of your children.  Once the students enter the A-Wing they will not be permitted to leave.  Every room has OMS faculty chaperones posted. Students must report to one of the chaperones in their designated room to sign-in.

7th and 8th Grade Students should report to the cafeteria (located at the opposite side of the circle designated as the “ATHLETICS” portion of the HS..  They may either walk through the building to get there in the case of precipitation or enter through the courtyard, weather permitting.

Sixth Grade will perform first.  They will watch the remainder of the concert from the balcony. Students will be dismissed to the auditorium at the end of the concert.  Administration kindly asks that you please do not put the security guards or chaperones in an awkward position by asking to make an exception and leaving early. 

The more than 450  students in the concert have worked very hard and we cannot wait to perform for you!!

Concert Information

OMS Chorus Concert- Attendance is Mandatory

In the the event that your child misses the concert due to illness or unforeseen emergency, he/she must see Mr. Joella immediately upon the return to school.  A make-up assignment must be completed to receive credit for chorus.  A grade of “INCOMPLETE” will appear on the report card until a suitable assignment is made up.

DATES: Friday, December 1, 2017/Wednesday, May 1, 2018

PLACE: Parkland High School Auditorium

CONCERT START TIME: 7:00 PM

 

 

6th Grade Chorus: Report to the PHS Chorus Room by 6:30PM

 

7th/8th Grade Chorus: Report to the PHS Cafeteria by 6:45PM

SIGN IN UPON ENTERING!!

 

Dress Rehearsal for Concert-(During School Day)

DATES: Friday, December 1, 2017/Wednesday, May 1, 2018

PLACE: Parkland High School Auditorium

TIME: During the Regular School Day

 

  • Students will be bused from Orefield MS to Parkland High School during the school day and return to OMS after the dress rehearsal is completed.  Specific times are as follows:
    • 8th Grade Chorus: Depart OMS @ 9:00AM & return at 10:45 AM
    • 7th Grade Chorus: Depart OMS @ 11:15 AM & return at 12:45PM
    • 6th Grade Chorus: Depart OMS @ 12:30PM & return at 2:00PM

***NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES SHOULD BE TAKEN TO THE HIGH SCHOOL***

  • Students should wear normal school day clothes for the dress rehearsal.
  • They SHOULD NOT wear concert attire.
  • Students will eat lunch according to the adjusted schedule:
    • LUNCH A -8th Grade
    • LUNCH B-7th Grade
    • LUNCH C-6th Grade
