Fourth and fifth grade students at Ironton and Schnecksville Elementary Schools trained during Physical Education class to walk, jog and/or run a timed mile with the hope of seeing improvement since their fitness training began in early October. This favored tradition was started back in 1974 by teacher Rick Miller, who taught at both schools. Mr. Miller is pictured above with Ironton Principal Lyn Smith and Phys Ed teacher Anita Troxel as he came out to see kids run. Next, Ironton students who ran the race are pictured with Mr. Miller. Finally, Schnecksville Principal Bill Bowen is pictured running with a student as she crosses the finish line. Friends, family and teachers cheered the kids along at this favorite community event.
