On Tuesday, June 21, 2011, the Parkland Board of School Directors appointed Thomas J. Stoudt Jr. as the new Assistant Principal of Orefield Middle School. He will replace Mr. George Karetsky who will retire on June 30.
Mr. Stoudt holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lafayette College in History and a Masters of Education degree/Principal Certificate from Lehigh University in Secondary Education. Mr. Stoudt is currently an Advanced Placement economics teacher at Dieruff High School in the Allentown School District where he is also serving as a Professional Learning Community Facilitator and a member of the Instructional Learning Team. Tom also served as a paid administrative intern and as a Dean of Students in Allentown. Prior to becoming involved in his administrative roles, Tom was a middle school teacher in Maryland and a high school teacher for seven years in the Allentown School District.
Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Louise E. Donohue, stated, “Mr. Stoudt is a strong instructional leader and enthusiastic, student-focused administrator with effective interpersonal skills that will allow him to be effective with children, parents, teachers, fellow administrators and community members. The interview committee is pleased to recommend him to join our administrative team and we wish him the best in his new role at Orefield Middle School.
