The Library Resource Center provides an environment where all students are able to learn the tools of research and the use of technology for application in their academic and personal development.
The library includes 34 computers with Internet access, word processing, online search tools, and a periodical data-base. Emphasis on reading is an important part of the library program. The reading incentive program is based on the Accelerated Reader and aimed at individual progress to encourage life-long reading habits.
ARP Book List : This list encompasses all accelerated reading materials found in the libraries of Orefield Middle School, Springhouse Middle School and the Parkland Community Library as of 2008. Parents are responsible to review their child’s book selection. The literary works on this list vary by content ranging from grade five through grade nine. Therefore, you may deem some readings inappropriate for your child. It is our goal to continually challenge the reading abilities of our students. We appreciate your involvement in your child’s reading selections.
