This is just a reminder that reports cards were distributed today, Wednesday, February 1, 2012. Considering we are halfway through the school year please be sure to thoroughly review your child’s academic progress up to this point in the year. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s team or counselor. After you have had an opportunity to review your child’s report card, please sign the report card envelope and have your child return it to his/her homeroom teacher.

On Thursday, February 23, 2012, we have two annual events occurring at SMS.  First, we have our 6^th Grade Parents Night in the auditorium.  This is set up to alert parents to the changes as your child transitions from 6^th to 7^th grade.  Along with highlighting the academic differences, information related to immunization requirements and athletics will be shared.  Our annual Science Fair projects will be on display that same evening in the SMS gymnasium, and both events will start at 7:00 PM. 

 That same night, February 23^rd, the SMSP will be sponsoring a scholastic book fair that will be open to the public from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.  Students will also have an opportunity to visit the book fair during school hours.

 The Parkland Health and Wellness Council recently compiled another quality article relating to brain food for breakfast.  In the article, there is information to help busy families better plan out ideas related to nutrition and eating a quality meal first thing in the morning.   Please click the link below to view the entire article:
