On Tuesday, February 24, 2015, the Parkland Board of School Directors appointed Timothy A. Chorones Principal of Fogelsville Elementary School. He will replace Mrs. Brenda DeRenzo who will assume the role of Director of Student Services upon Mr. Robert Thornburg’s retirement at the end of the school year.
Mr. Chorones holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology, as well as Educational Leadership and Principal’s Certificate from Wilkes University. Presently, Mr. Chorones is the Assistant Principal at Upper Perkiomen Middle School in the Upper Perkiomen School District. Prior to becoming involved in administration, Timothy taught elementary school for nine years. He was a fourth and fifth grade elementary teacher and K-12 Technology Integration Coach in the Whitehall-Coplay School District. Previous to this assignment, he was a fourth and fifth grade teacher in the Allentown School District.
Superintendent of Schools Richard Sniscak stated, “Timothy’s background, skills and overall personality will complement the Fogelsville community very well. He is dynamic, articulate, professional, and cares deeply for children. His strong technology background enhances his overall skills as an instructional leader and he shares our common goal of improving student learning at every level. We wish him the best of luck in his new position and warmly welcome him to our administrative team.”
