Miss Myslinski
Hi, My name is Sonia Myslinski. I am a graduate of Cedar Crest College, where I majored in Elementary Education and co-majored in Psychology. I also received my Master’s Degree in Classroom Technology from Wilkes University. I really enjoy teaching first grade. I believe this is an important grade to teach because I am dealing with the formative years in a child’s education.!

Hi my name is Linda Petri. I graduated from Kutztown University and received my Master’s Degree in Classroom Technology from Wilkes University. I have taught in the Parkland School District at Schnecksville, Ironton, and Kratzer Schools. I have taught fourth grade, kindergarten, and now my favorite…FIRST GRADE!
Mrs. Lucas
Hi my name is Sandra Lucas . I am a graduate of Parkland High School, Kutztown University and have my Master’s Degree in Education from Wilkes University.
1ST Grade Curriculum
The Language Arts program incorporates a variety of
learning methods. Our program is based on high frequency sight words and incorporates phonics, reading strategy instruction, guided reading, and the writing process.
Scotts Foresman Math is the program your child will be using. Within each chapter your child will gain problem solving strategies, critical thinking skills, and hands-on discovery.
Your child will be using a program published by Scott Foresman. This program has six units:
1. Time for School
2. In My Community
3. Work – Work – Work
4. Our Earth Our Resources
5. This is Our Country
6. Our Country Our World
We are so excited….we have a terrific science program this year. It is published by Houghton Mifflin. It is called “Discovery Works.” This program has three units:
1. Magnets
2. Kinds of Living Things
3. Our Earth and Water
This program will provide your child with many hands-on, inquiry based learning experiences.
The district has provided a health curriculum for us to follow which includes the following units:
1. Dental Health
2. Nutrition
3. Your Health and Safety
4. Here’s Looking at You, 2 ( a drug & alcohol education program)
We will be visiting the computer lab on the average of one time per week, using Compass Learning assignments correlated to our current units of instruction. We currently have five computers in our classroom computer center.
