“What Will You Do the Next Time You Witness A Victim Being Bullied?”
As a result of Ironton’s commitment to being a no bullying school, students participate in classroom lessons throughout the year on how to stop bullying. This year a series of lessons and class meetings focused specifically on the Olweus Bullying circle. At the conclusion of these lessons, students role played the different choices they could make when encountering a bully and a victim. To take this culminating activity further, Mr. DeFazio’s fourth grade class created a digital story depicting how to make good choices when encountering a bullying situation. Additionally, student interviews that explain personal experiences and insight regarding bullying were included in the video which was shown to the entire school at a Star Stallion Assembly.
