  • A reminder from the school nurse to parents when deciding if your child is too sick for school. A sick child cannot learn effectively and is unable to participate in classes in a meaningful way. Keeping a sick child home prevents the spread of illness in the school community and allows the child an opportunity to rest and recover. She would appreciate if parents would keep their child home from school if they have the following:
    • Vomiting
    • Diarrhea
    • Fever over 100 degrees or higher (a child must be fever free for 24 hours WITHOUT fever reducing medication)
    • Severe Cough
    • Suspicious skin rash
