Eight Parkland High School students joined 30 Red Cross Club members in the Lehigh Valley. They honored Martin Luther King Jr.’s memory by participating in a day of service. The youth volunteers distributed fire safety information to help residents in the Parkland School District and other areas to prevent home fires, protect their families and strengthen their communities. The project was funded by a grant from the Office of the National Chair of Volunteers and thousands of volunteers in more than 55 cities participated as part of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.
