The Pennsylvania State Police, in partnership with Lehigh Carbon Community College, Lehigh County’s District Attorney, Lehigh County Probation and Lehigh County Drug and Alcohol, will hold a Drug Awareness Academy in response to the heroin epidemic currently going on in our community. The Academy sessions are open to all residents of Lehigh County and some topics are particularly aimed at high school students. The sessions will be held on October 25, November 2, November 9, and November 16. Each session will focus on a different area of concern and will take place at 7 PM at Lehigh Carbon Community College Community Services Center at 4255 Education Park Dr., Schnecksville, PA 18078.

Parkland High School was host to a similar seminar in August which was coordinated by Dr. Thomas Meade of Coordinated Health. Various speakers delivered critical information about the drug epidemic that is frightening and affecting our local community. If you take the time to review it, it will definitely bring you up to speed on the issues that are surrounding us.
