On Tuesday, December 3, 2013 the Board of School Directors voted to appoint Mr. David Keppel as the new Director of School Services. He will oversee transportation, maintenance, buildings and grounds. Mr. Keppel will replace Mark Lapos who recently left the school district to pursue a career in the utilities industry.
David has served in the capacity of Facilities Manager/Supervisor of Building and Grounds for the past 13 years at the Palisades School District. Successful projects which David supervised were a $25 million renovation at Palisades High School; a $6 million renovation at Springfield Elementary; a $10 million renovation at Tinicum Elementary; and a $6 million all-weather track & turf field complex. Additionally, he has been recognized several times at Palisades for his outstanding energy and cost-savings initiatives.
Mr. Richard T. Sniscak, Superintendent of Schools, remarked, “We were impressed by his overall professionalism and his background as well as his excellent analytical skills, thoughtful communication skills and his overall interpersonal skills. Based upon his previous experiences and comments from his references, we believe David will have a smooth transition to his new assignment in the Parkland School District.”
