Two Parkland High School students have received 2013 NATIONAL Scholastic Art Awards. R.J. Monko (sculpture) and Shane Miller (painting) both have their winning pieces on display at PHS

 PHS Visual Arts teachers Mr. Barrett, Mrs. Coval, Mrs. Danner, Ms. La Due and Mr. Shemonsky are proud to announce that two Parkland High School students have received 2013 NATIONAL Scholastic Art Awards.  R.J. Monko (sculpture) and Shane Miller (painting) both have their winning pieces on display at PHS and can also be seen by clicking here  . Both will travel to Carnegie Hall in New York City to receive medals in May.  In January, The East Central Pennsylvania Regional Art Awards took place at the Allentown Art Museum.  All high schools from Lehigh, Berks, Northampton and Carbon counties took part and works receiving Gold and American Visions awards were sent to New York City for national judging.   This year, 230,000 entries came from throughout the United States.   In February, national judging took place and less than 1% received NATIONAL awards.
