The emphasis of this event was to have students try some new green vegetables. Vegetable tastings occurred during all lunches and the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades competed to see which grade could provide the best healthy boxed lunch presentation which was judged by the Schnecksville Elementary Health and Wellness Committee.   To view the winning boxed lunch, click to read more below.

The Parkland Partner’s 4th Annual Food Drive was our best yet with students and staff in all buildings donating a total of 15,796 lbs. of food this year. After all of the food was brought to a central location, students and staff, representing all 10 school buildings at Parkland, loaded the items onto Second Harvest trucks. The group then took a tour of the Second Harvest food bank facility in Allentown which services more than 200 soup kitchens, food banks, and other agencies throughout the Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania. The students learned about the very real hunger that exists in our neighborhoods and how this donation amounts to approximately 10,000 meals. [Read more...]
